Prescription drug costs have become one of the biggest financial headaches for Americans, especially for people paying out of pocket. In early 2026, the Trump administration launched TrumpRx, a government-backed platform designed to negotiate lower prices directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers. The website claims some medications now cost 70% to 90% less than traditional U.S. list prices. 

While critics argue some discounts overlap with existing coupon programs, several medications on the platform still saw dramatic reductions compared to their original retail pricing. Here are five of the biggest price drops currently highlighted on TrumpRx.

Wegovy

Weight-loss medication has become one of the most expensive categories in modern healthcare, and injectable Wegovy was one of the highest-priced examples before TrumpRx launched.

According to White House data, Wegovy’s monthly price previously reached around $1,349. Through TrumpRx, some dosages reportedly dropped as low as $199, with average pricing closer to $350. 

That reduction instantly made Wegovy one of the most talked-about offerings on the platform. Because obesity medications are often excluded from insurance coverage, many patients had been paying full price.

The size of the discount also created intense political debate. Some healthcare analysts praised the lower cash price, while others argued manufacturer discount programs already offered similar savings before TrumpRx existed. 

Ozempic

Few medications have dominated headlines like Ozempic. Originally intended for diabetes management, the drug exploded in popularity because of its weight-loss effects.

Before TrumpRx, Ozempic’s monthly cost was roughly $1,028 for uninsured patients. The new platform advertised average pricing around $350, depending on dosage strength. 

For many Americans without strong prescription coverage, the difference could mean saving thousands of dollars annually.

The medication became one of the centerpiece examples used by the administration when promoting the site. However, some pharmacy professionals online claimed the savings mirrored existing manufacturer offers and pharmacy discount programs. 

Cetrotide

Fertility medications rarely get national attention, but Cetrotide ended up becoming one of the most dramatic discount examples on TrumpRx.

The fertility drug reportedly fell from approximately $316 to just $22.50 under the program. 

That price collapse represented more than a 90% reduction, making it one of the largest percentage decreases listed during the launch.

Patients undergoing IVF treatments often pay enormous out-of-pocket costs because fertility coverage varies wildly between insurance plans. TrumpRx claimed families could save over $2,000 per treatment cycle on fertility drugs overall. 

Interestingly, some critics who dismissed much of the platform still acknowledged Cetrotide as one of the few genuinely significant new discounts. 

Bevespi Aerosphere

Respiratory medications can be brutally expensive, especially for chronic conditions requiring long-term treatment. Bevespi Aerosphere became another standout example on TrumpRx.

The COPD inhaler reportedly dropped from around $458 to approximately $51. 

For patients managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, monthly inhaler expenses can quickly become overwhelming. A reduction of more than $400 per month could dramatically change affordability for uninsured users.

The inhaler category also highlights one of TrumpRx’s core selling points: helping people who fall into the gap between being insured and still facing massive copays.

Several respiratory and diabetes medications have since been added to the platform as additional pharmaceutical companies joined the initiative. 

Zepbound

Another blockbuster weight-loss drug, Zepbound, also received one of the largest advertised reductions.

The medication originally carried a monthly price near $1,088. TrumpRx stated some patients could access it for as low as $299, with average pricing around $346. 

Like Wegovy and Ozempic, Zepbound exists in a category where insurance coverage often remains inconsistent or nonexistent. That reality makes cash discounts especially important for consumers trying to manage obesity or related metabolic conditions.

Some experts remain skeptical about how many Americans will ultimately benefit from the program because purchases generally do not count toward insurance deductibles or out-of-pocket maximums. 

Still, for cash-paying customers, the lower pricing could represent meaningful savings.

Whether the initiative evolves into a long-term healthcare solution or remains a politically charged discount portal, the enormous price reductions attached to several high-profile medications have already attracted national attention.
